Is there any way we can work for our US employer from India on Indian salary? I am thinking a consulting company with presence in US and India (Manpower??) can set this up for us. So we will just be living in India and working remotely for the employer as a consultant. We will be paying indian taxes as the consulting company will be indian. Any thoughts?

out of 45K members let's assume 22.5 K are EB2 and 22.5 K are EB3.
Even If 11.25K (EB2)+11.25K (EB3) = 22.5 K (Total) contributes $25 Each Problems gets solved ... but the catch is ....
Even 11.25 K EB2 members are not contributing because they don't have to as their problem is solved
Even 11.25 K EB3 members are not contributing because they are not sure even with this contribution their problems gets solved.
Many people are saying that EB3 members are not contributing that's why you are lagging etc...
EB3 Members who contributed are feeling the pain because even after contribution they are not getting the results and EB2 members who didn't contributed are getting the results...

Let's assume EB3 at 11.25K. They all know that their are royally screwed unless there is legislative action. So, I would expect 11.25 K EB3 to be at the front of this funding drive. Let's face it EB2 will likely become current sometime in 2012 (per Q and Teddy in other thread), no one is ever predicting this to happen for EB3 barring law change. IF you are in such a big hole, you will have to come forward and work for yourself. We want others to work for us and solve our problems. That is my issue here. With 11.25 K EB3 members we would have still collected quarter million bucks.(@ 25$/person) If EB3-I does not care for itself, why would anybody else give a damn? (PS : I did contribute for the drive as I want everybody's issues with respect to GC resolved, not just mine)

Madam Rice is trying to divert the issue by telling skilled professional from all over the world wants to come here....This is not the issue.....
Issue is there are thousands of high skilled professional with approved labor and I-140 , waiting for years to file I-485.... DOS told then on 13th June that you all can file I-485 and all of the sudden on 2nd July 07 DOS said we can't accept your application...
So madam secretary it's not issue of how many high skilled professional wants to come here. Infact DOS/USCIS/Govt. of US need to think how life is tough for those high skilled professional who already came here and waiting for years to get green card through legal system....
In Fox News this afternoon, the senator has explicitly said that the Chicago lady does not have any "constituional rights" since she is not American citizen. Go figure what they think about us.

After two years in the US, I told my employer that I want to file for GC...
Going to and fro he spent 8 months sayign that he is in the process of doing it...Then he gave me the papers to sign...After that he kept telling me that the lawyer had filed it for one and a half year...In April 04 employer changed lawyers...The new lawyer tried to find all cases at the DOL...My case and one of my friends case is 'missing'...They telling me that is old lawyers fault.....They told us to file a new cases...I am sitting around since July 04.....I am so sick of this whole thing.....
July 04 was my chance to change job or go back...I decided to stick with the job...my bad...Now I am really stuck.....Am waiting for 8th year extension...Wife finishing MS in May and baby on way....I am stuck with dead end job...not well paid......

On July 15th I have filed for renewal of EAD for both of us, today I got approval email where as my wife status says received and pending and NO LUD either. Infact she needs EAD as she is been working on EAD and it expires in October. I am on H1. Why like that? My PD will be current from September as per September bulletin.

As far as I can tell from this thread, no one who was eligible to file 6/1 has had receipts yet.
I was told, attorney / employer will receive notice of receipt for I 485, not employee. For EAD / AP - that goes to employee, not attorney / employer
I got 3 out of 6 on monday by mail.

Well, my old carcass is getting too aged to handle that anymore. So now I ease off the sauce and go to the gym.
But I do also try to notice and enjoy the silliness of the every day human condition. (Still to this day, I'm not sure why I mow my lawn, for instance.) A sense of humour is very important. Recognition that there are others less fortunate. And stay connected with friends socially.
And also recognize that fact that a green card won't make me magically happier beyond the immediate jubilation. Yes it is good to regain the rights we lost coming to the US. To speeches I'll still smile, nod, even clap and think "what a bunch of nonsense!" for privacy is the true freedom that you still have. But I'll still work for a living. I'll still put on a dress shirt to impress clients I'll never see. I'll still try to spend more time creating than managing. Not simply because my h1b legally requires me to do so, but because managing is intellectually trivial. Or one could say that managing is the work of man, creation is the work of the gods. ; )

For all those waiting for approval, its does help to find out if a visa number has been requested for your application. My understanding is that all the applications which are ready for adjudication are moved to a separate area and visa number is requested for those.Infact if you can find out (I think the guys at Infopass only have access to that information. Not sure if the level 2 service does) it helps. If a visa number has been assigned or requested for your application it will get approved.
I am not sure if assigned to an officer or with an officer status has any material value when it comes to approval unless a visa number has been requested.
You might be right. Check the response senator got from USCIS on Aug 6th. I was later approved on Aug 16th.

In reviewing the electronic records, it does appear that the contractor has placed these cases in a location where they will be pulled and sent to an officer. We are unable to request the files be moved to an Adjudications Officer because our Records Division is running an electronic sweep to pull the files with available visas. Files will be pulled through this sweep and sent to an Officer. We are generally processing about 4000 employment-based cases a month and the cases with available visas are being pulled through these sweeps.
