They approved my EAD and Adv Parole (last month within 2 weeks of application), but no progress on my case :confused:

When is the next congress session? is it in Nov/Dec (the so called lame-duck session). I am wondering about chances of having some immigration measures during that session. Being a lame-duck session, do congressmen can take up a serious measure like immigration for discussion (either CIR or SKIL)? If not - is it possible to introduce some highly desirable stop-gap measures like: ability to apply for 485 during retrogession; recapturing the unused visa numbers from previous years with soft country limits (as is done a few years back); and faster backlog reduction at BEC�s. In short I am wondering about our strategy for next 4-5 months; and is there a hope - however small it maybe � hope of getting something done this year; Or our only hope is with next congress?

Giving Pay stubs instead of FUTURE employment letter ?
That may be a RFE and then eventually you have to give that letter and do more bargaining with your employer...
Generally speaking two recent pay stubs are sufficient to verify that you remain with the same employer. It is possible that if your petition is pending for more than 10 or 12 months, either a job offer letter or additional pay stubs will be requested.

Yesterday I have got my RN and today my wife has got hers.
I was quite disappointed for a while, but feel a little better just to know that our apps are entered into the system.

So they are bining you for 1 year after getting the GC. What is you leave them prior to getting GC that's after 180 days of filing?
or remain on the bench by not clearing the interview and see for how long they can continue to pay you!!
May end i had 11 day bench but they paid in full... They are good in some aspects that's why i stayed with them for 2.5 yrs....
But signing a binding contract for an indeterminate period ( I yr after GC)
is making me worried !!

I applied 1st EAD renewal for myself and my wife in August 4th. Still waiting.
Service Center: TSC
Mailed Date: August 4th.
USCIS Recived: August 6th.
Notice Date: August 13th.
Online shows as USCIS received those on the August 12th. Still waiting on EAD approval.
We mailed the AP documents for our family along with the EAD apps. APs for my wife and son were approved on the August 17th. Still waiting on the approval of AP for me.
I suspect who was processing our cases had gone on a big vacation.

I received my (and my family's) transfer notice (and hence the WAC### nos.) for 485 application yesterday at my residence. The cases were filed in CA by my lawyer (filing from MD). The cases have been transferred to TX.
I am yet to receive any notice/tracking no. for EAD and AP applications. The checks were made by the lawyer so that is not an option.
Questions::confused:
1) Does transfer mean delay in processing ?
2) Is EAD tracking no. different from the 485 no. ? If so, where can I get that from ?
3) Are they still issuing EADs in about a couple of months ? If so, that is great. If not, when does the 90-day clock start for INFOPASS ? (if it is an option in this incresed activity)
Any answers or discussions or links to the solutions are welcome.

Well said eager_immi. Getting GC and getting job and earning is not the only thing in life. I have seen many many couple who are gc holders and citizens, giving up their career to bring up the kids for the first few years. This segment includes US citizens ( US Origin) too. Most the of the americans here have their spouse at home to take care of their kids first few years. It is not worth anybody's time and money to have a kid and put them in daycare from day one and go out and earn and pay half of it to daycare and the remaining half you are left with is not even come close to the amout of time you spent away with the new born who needs your warmth and does not have words to express. So the time spent with your new born for the first few years is priceless compared to the dollar you dream to earn at the cost of having child.
Enough of above, even my wife is CPA and we are married for 5 years now. She came to US dreaming about working in professional CPA firm. But my ignorance about GC process then cost her her career. She was depressed initially. I am an easy go guy and convinced her not to worry much about job. We planned and now we have 3+ year girl and a 3 weeks+ boy. Her mind is all set towards taking care of our kids and I am free from those job hunting depressions. Once both of our kids reaches 5+, she may again start to think about career. May be by then, by Gods grace, I hope to have my GC. I bought a house this year and we all live happily knowing all the uncertanites of H1. We knew it is risk to buy a house. But ultimately what is going to happen. Is anyone going to behead you in case you default or loose job? What the heck, file bankruptcy and go back to home country. At least the days we live here, we live in peace and enjoy. If you have this mindset, you will think clearly and will take positive decisions. Otherwise, everyday is hell in US for immigrants with the current GC process.
Getting GC and earning is not everything. It is only very very small part of life. Forget about it and live today's life with what you have. Worry about things which you can control. All other things will follow you automatically. Having kids is in your hand and you have to have this sooner or later. Always, sooner the better and you can use this retrogression as an opportunity to execute those projects instead of worrying over it. GOOD LUCK.

If you have kids they will be US citizens they can sponsor you 18 years later so why are you that frustrated. When your wife is on H4 that is the best time to have kids because she is at home and you don't have to pay daycare. It is the woman in H1B that my sympathies are with bc they cannot go part-time or get more that 6 week maternity leave. So please buckle up or seek help, I don’t think your logic makes sense.

From this, if we assume ~4000/day, it ll take 20 working days to clear july 2nd filers (~80,000). My guess is by 31st Aug.

I think the admin should respect the wishes of his friends and close this thread, it is causing pain for them.
If all of us agree that we need to help his family then lets open a new thread and make it about helping them, so his friends do not need to come back here and read his last words over and over again.
