Correct - None is the answer! My law firm (Fragomen) didnt ask for them when they submitted my docs on JUly 2. Maybe they are needed if the USCIS comes back with an RFE.

I am just wondering if kaiserrose can get his wife an EAD as well - doesn't that make both on AOS-pending status?
that requires his wife to first file a I-485 for herself, and she can only do that once his PD is current (EB3 INdia is at 2001, he is at 2003 so thats not possible right now)

Next thing....H1 program only once in 3 years or only when "needed".....
Cut the number of GCs by half...So that people will go back to their origin when their H1 expires.....
Attach huge price tag to GC... and...

Why do you think you would be denied entry in canada? You are legal to enter Canada with your PR approval. There is no question of "intent" when you are already approved for permanent residency.
and u dont have to get h1 visa appt (unless u ahve already booked it)....if u have any VISA in passport that is expired....u can use auto reval...
assuming u have a VISA (expired) and didnt jump the fence.

Try to apply in another consulate . that might help. Otherwise as everybody has mentioned you are sufferring coz of the indian outsourcing giants who have abused every other VISA

I disagree, Number crunching if it can give the members an idea of how long it will take to get the GC will motivate them beyond any thing else. If ppl can see the unreasonable amount of time we have to wait before any thing can happen will make force them to take some action. So if any one can make sense of the numbers and if it is reliable please post it for the benifit of others.

You may not use AC-21 AOS portability for future employment green cards. This is because the start date of employment on your AC-21 letter(from I assume your current employer) should be 180 days after filing of your future employment 485. Since you have been working for your current employer prior to that - USCIS will deny your 485

For AC21 does the jobs exactly have to match with the technoligies mentioned in labor , Or a generic job descirption of Software developer will be taken in to considerarion.

This shouldn't surprise you, should it? In the US too, some engineers make 50K and others make 200K. It depends both on prevailing standards and the individual's skills/luck/location. I do know people making ridiculous sums in India, but they are worth every cent to their employers.

I think the 3 to 4 lakh comment was meant for people "who could not get a job at Microsoft or IBM." I think that the author qualified his/her comments by stating "Not everyone gets into Microsoft or IBM india. You have to compete with MS/PhD in computer science for the same job that needs BS in big companies due to high rate of competition and unemployment."
Ok. So if I summarize, you guys are providing the following ranges:
22 Lakhs to 40 Lakhs
20 Lakhs to 35 Lakhs
12 Lakhs to 15 Lakhs
3 Lakhs to 4 Lakhs
That means, 3 Lakhs to 40 Lakhs. :)

Nothing surprising here. I have yet to hear about one desi employer who has not exploited H1b. The system is set up to favor the employer. Employees hardly have a choice. Those in favor of increasing the quota should also lobby for complete portability without any penalty to keep the system fair.

Going to India is definitely better. Especially since it is going to be your first H1b stamping.
If you register for a Canada stamping, a message pops-up saying that if it is your 1st H1b stamping, then go to home country.
As long as your docs are in order, you shouldn't have any problem in India.

Yes, the current visa bulletin has to show PD your date or beyond or be current!
Otherwise, they can't request visa numbers. DOS won't issue.
